We carry out all aspects of design work for new connections as part of our role as an Independent Connection Provider on Private Networks.
ESE is certified under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) by Lloyd’s Register as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP)
Our in-house team designs, manages and delivers new grid connections from initial application through to the final connection & energisation, so they can be adopted by the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO).
Using ESE as your ICP means we design, build and deliver the connection faster and more cost-effectively than the DNO, combining the contestable works and your private network requirements into a single end-to-end solution.
Our capabilities include:
- Liaising with the relevant DNO/IDNO and applying for a point of connection
- Bespoke ICP project design to meet asset owner standards
- Cable installation, jointing and terminations
- Substation construction and equipment installation
- All associated civil works, including excavation, duct installation, trench reinstatement and substation base construction
- On-site testing and commissioning, witnessed by both the asset owner & the DNO
- Final connections onto the DNO network upto & including 20kV
