Frequently Asked Questions
We follow agreed waste management plans, provide suitable oil containment, and comply with PCB handling rules and cable recycling requirements. Our designs and equipment selections take account of relevant Ecodesign Regulations and environmental standards.
We plan shutdowns in detail, agreeing outage windows, switching schedules and any temporary supplies in advance. Our team also liaises closely with the client and other contractors, so that works are completed safely, and power is restored on time.
At handover, we provide as-built drawings, test certificates, O&M manuals, asset registers and commissioning reports. Where required, we also deliver training for site staff, so they understand how to operate and look after the new equipment.
We provide a full range of testing and commissioning services, including pressure testing, VLF/AC testing, fault location, relay testing, functional checks, system phasing, insulation resistance & cable overvoltage testing. All results are recorded and issued as part of the project handover.
We work in line with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR), BS EN 61936, BS 7671, relevant ENA TS standards and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM). Project-specific company and client safety rules are also applied on every site.
Our engineers include HV Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) with authorisations for network operations & access, as well as trained cable jointers. Our teams also hold relevant confined space certification, CSCS/ECS cards, first aid training and other role-specific qualifications required to work safely on & in proximity to High Voltage Apparatus & Cables.
