All transformers are manufactured to recognised British and international standards and fully compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) 548/2014.
New EU Directive Transformers
We supply EU Directive compliant ground-mounted liquid-filled, cast resin and pole-mounted transformers, including Tier 2 and amorphous units that exceed the 2021 efficiency requirements. These transformers reduce losses, carbon emissions and operating costs.

Cast Resin Transformers
ESE also supplies cast resin transformers, with primary voltages up to 33kV and secondary voltages adapted to customer requirements, along with a choice of enclosures. Each unit uses a core of high-quality cold-rolled, grain-oriented steel with step lap joints, and windings embedded under vacuum to ensure void-free epoxy insulation. Cores and steel parts are resin or epoxy coated for corrosion protection, and we can provide external cable boxes, internal gland plates or LV bus bar connections to suit the installation.
Re-engineered transformers
We have a large stock of fully refurbished distribution transformers, each supplied with replaced insulating oil where required, new gaskets and cable boxes, full respray and a 12-month standard warranty. All refurbished units are fully tested, including insulation resistance and pressure testing, and are dispatched with test certification. As with new transformers, we can directly couple switchgear to create package substations, and we offer a workshop overhaul service from our Leeds facility, removing transformers from site, refurbishing them and returning them to service.

Our sales team can source and supply a wide range of high-voltage equipment as part of a project or as a standalone procurement service.
We work on high-voltage systems up to and including 33kV.
Once a project is secured, we provide the necessary technical documentation, which may include general arrangement drawings, technical data sheets and other supporting information.
