EOS2 Feeder Pillar Supply and Installation
ESE supplied and installed a new EOS range feeder pillar and transformer to support the connection of a new Solar PV farm, allowing the customer to bring additional renewable generation online safely and efficiently.
Problem
Our customer needed new high-capacity LV distribution to allow the installation of a Solar PV farm. This required a new feeder pillar and transformer arrangement. After the scope was agreed and orders were placed, unexpected issues with site access roads meant the original installation approach was no longer practical for moving and positioning the high-value equipment.
Solution
We installed a 2500kVA transformer with a close-coupled 4000A EOS range feeder pillar, providing 18 outgoing ways, each rated at 160A, to serve the new Solar PV installation.
When access constraints on the site changed, we re-visited the location, reviewed the logistics and adapted the installation plan. We also arranged for a suitable access vehicle so the transformer and feeder pillar could be delivered, positioned and installed safely and efficiently despite the restricted access.
Once the equipment was in place, we commissioned the high-voltage equipment so the customer could energise the system and begin their greener future.
